The main result of the project will be the four PV charging stations for the four EVs and the four electric mini-busses of the four municipalities (Bitola, Resen, Prespes, Florina), which will cover the mobility needs of the area using an Intelligent Transportation System and after the optimal routes scheduling per municipality.
Furthermore:
(1) The dissemination output will promote to the local and regional population the benefits of electric mobility, which include saving transport and maintenance cost and environmental benefits.
(2) The electric vehicles, especially when they are combined with solar charging, can serve as an important touristic attraction for the area, especially for thematic tourists. Environmental-sensitive tourists and thematic tourism is rapidly increasing. Therfore, the EVs can provide added value to the touristic development of the area.
(3) The optimal routes scheduling studies are an opportunity to highlight that the same transport means can be exploited for different purposes and increase their efficiency.
(4) Social groups that are sensitive, such as children, elderly people and disabled people can be facilitated for their every day needs and increase their quality of life.
(5) Eight permanent job positions are expected to be created, for the drivers of the EVs.
